Within the scope of the project, drought analyses and the creation of drought maps, existing and projected water budget studies, sectoral vulnerability analysis, and the development of measures have been updated.
Considering the water budget of the Eastern Black Sea Basin and its sensitivity to drought, it is essential to prepare a drought management plan for the Eastern Black Sea Basin, which includes determining drought indices, indicators, and threshold values, conducting sectoral vulnerability analysis studies, and updating the works and measures to be taken before, during, and after drought in order to reduce the adverse effects of drought on production resources and socio-economic life, as well as to ensure the rational and sustainable use of the limited water resources in the basin through an integrated basin management approach.
