Gazimağusa Atıksu Arıtma Tesisinin Genişletilmesi için Fizibilite Çalışması
The project's aim is to develop a comprehensive plan that will ensure the provision of quality wastewater treatment services in Famagusta over the next 15 years. This specific objective will be achieved through five outputs. The existing WWTP has been examined and the current operations have been evaluated. All functions of the facility are checked and assessed for their proper use, and if they are not being used, the fundamental reasons for this (such as the sludge digester or treatment of septic water) are identified. A detailed review of the existing WWTP and the equipment at the main pumping station has also been conducted. Based on the review, the remaining technical and economic life of key equipment is estimated. At the beginning of the task, all relevant data from local stakeholders are collected. Calculations are made to estimate the amount of wastewater in the system and septic tanks and then the treatment capacity needed over a 15-year period until 2035. By presenting the current situation, fundamental technical requirements are identified, and various options for wastewater treatment are defined based on the identified requirements. Then, a special model for the multi-criteria analysis of the determined different options is developed as a cost-benefit analysis tool and is run after approval. Based on the multi-criteria analysis, recommendations are made on which solution should be chosen. Additionally, a market research has been conducted to identify the potential market size and willingness to pay for the sale of treated sludge and wastewater. Finally, the feasibility/sustainability report is submitted to the authorities.
